Yesterday I began working on my wand. The day before, I'd taken myself on a walk with the intention that I would find material to make myself a wand. No sooner had I left the street I'm staying on, I found the perfect fallen twig to use. Not wanting to waste what was a really nice autumnal afternoon, I walked around a nearby park and a couple of items caught my eye; a feather and several wild hazelnuts.

I've sanded it down and etched a few basic symbols into; my sun sign, five pointed star, and some decorative lines on the handle as well as a comfortable thumb nook. Before I begin to use this wand, I wanted to make sure it was cleansed in preparation for its use and did so using smudging sage. Not wanting to waste the smoke, I cleansed the items I'd found on my walk to.

I have found I really enjoy practising in a very intuitive way. When I'm spell casting like this is makes me feel a stronger connection to the craft because everything just feels right. To a degree when I'm planning magic there is some consideration to the tools I want to use, but the actual action comes to me naturally.

While I was waiting for my sage to stop smouldering, I took a moment to work on some crystal magic. Using my clear quarts point, jet and hematite, I worked on a spell to help recharge me. I lay the jet and hematite in front of me, parallel to each other and help the quartz in my left hand and concentrated on the feel of it in my hand. I had a couple of small twitches in my hand and continued to focus my energy into the crystal. I laid it down between the other two stones, laid my hands about 10 inches above them and focused thoughts of being recharged onto them.

I created a PSI ball - upon reading about them in Everyday Magic I discovered that I'd already been making them intuitively - which is a build up of cosmic energy that you can create with your hands in the following way:

Sit, take a few gentle, deep breaths.
Place your hands in a prayer position and rub them at a steady pace for around 20 seconds.
Start to move your hands apart. You will be able to feel the energy between your hands and shape it into a ball. Focus on what your intention is.
Blow your intention into the ball and release it.

I gathered my crystals into a small pouch and will keep them close to me when I feel like I could do with a boot!

After I'd finished my crystal magic, I returned to the work space where I had been cleansing my wand and findings from my walk. I passed them through the smoulder of palo santo to encourage good energy to my new tools.

I'm really looking forward to getting move into my new place. This weekend I posted off the confirmation for my mortgage offer so hopefully I'll be moving into my new place soon - I'm really hoping to be settled in time for Halloween!
