Everything has been a little crazy with me lately with regard to my house move and this weekend was the first in a while where I didn't have anything I needed to do. 

I took a wander into the city to meet a friend who is also practising witchcraft  to have a bit of a catch up and she gifted me some Palo Santo to help attract some good vibes into my space. After our coffee date I paid a visit to a stall on Norwich market that sells crystals, incense amongst other things. The stall is run by a lovely man who has assisted me in identifying crystals via their Facebook page previously. I think he must recognise me as I've been back a few times recently and helped me pick out a new pendulum, some sage and also gifted me a piece of Palo Santo. I definitely think the universe it telling me I need to bring some good energy into my life!

I also collected The Green Witch a book I had ordered from The Works for a mere £3 (I did look on their website to link from there, but unfortunately they're no longer selling it but the hardback copy is available on Amazon). It's a really lovely book and very informative for beginners. I'm only about 50 pages in, but so far so good! I also nipped into out local Waterstones and fell in love with a copy of Everyday Magic. I'm a sucker for beautiful publishing and the entire thing is so aesthetically pleasing. I had a quick flick through, and again, it's really easy to follow, especially when you have a short attention span like I do! It's beautifully laid out and the illustrations are really lovely. It's a hardback book and cost me £10 which I was more than happy to pay because it was so lovely!


When I got back from the city, I had a much needed clean up of the attic I'm staying in; with my schedule being so hectic lately, I've had no energy to keep my space clear. Before I started cleaning up, I cleansed the room with the California sage bundle I bought and managed to get cleaned up a lot quicker than I had expected. Once I was done, I cleansed my crystals and my new pendulum with it. I couldn't believe how reactive to the sage the pendulum was! It eventually settled down so I assume this mean it was done. I finished off my room cleanse by smudging some Palo Santo to bring in some positive energy after dispelling the negative.

I really felt the benefit of sleeping in a fully cleansed room with my bedtime crystals of choice - Howlite and Snowflake Obsidian. I slept so well and felt the most refreshed I had done in a while.

I woke up this morning and stirred for a few minutes as I normally would, rubbed the sleep out of my eyes etc. and had last night's dream pop back into my head. I'm normally a pretty vivid dreamer; I always have been since I was a kid. The majority of the time my dreams are like watching a movie and I joke and say even when I'm having nightmares, I do kind of enjoy them in a weird way because it's free entertainment (and boy do I enjoy a horror movie). Last night's wasn't on par with classic slashers and monster flicks. Quite the opposite actually, but it did feature ghosts, specifically those of my late grandparents. Essentially the dream consisted of me being in their house and watching them as spirits getting ready to go to an evening function. Both of my grandparents had busy social lives and when they were both in good health, would often be going about on day trips or going to night time events. I'm in love with The Love Witch

What's this? Another post? Already?? So I'm a little late to the game on this one and no doubt anyone remotely interested in watching films that are about witchcraft or the occult in general will have most likely seen Anna Biller's 2016 The Love Witch already. Well I hadn't until the other week and let me tell you something - I LOVED it. I'd seen stills from this film floating around the internet (specfically from the first scene we see the protagonist in the Victorian tea rooms) and up until I tuned into The Witch Wave's podcast episode interviewing Biller I had assumed it was a film from the 1960s (this is a really good episode and I'd highly reccomend checking it out!) I mean, just look at it? You'd be easily fooled into thinking this film was relased around the time of classics like Breakfast at Tiffany's. Introduction

I always find that the most difficult part of getting a new blog up and going is getting the first post out of the way so I'm just gunna bite the bullet and get it over and done with. My name's Charlotte, I'm based in the UK and after a really long hiatus, I'm getting back into practising witchcraft. I've had a series of not-so-pleasant events occur recently, but out of it I feel like I'm starting to reconnect with myself in a way I haven't really done for probably coming up ten years. It feels massively overdue but I'm relieved that it's happening. I couldn't even tell you what prompted me to get back into witchcraft it was just something that over time started to come back to me and before I knew it I was back to researching, updating my book collection and making plans to expand my crystal collection.
