Introduction
I always find that the most difficult part of getting a new blog up and going is getting the first post out of the way so I'm just gunna bite the bullet and get it over and done with.
My name's Charlotte, I'm based in the UK and after a really long hiatus, I'm getting back into practising witchcraft. I've had a series of not-so-pleasant events occur recently, but out of it I feel like I'm starting to reconnect with myself in a way I haven't really done for probably coming up ten years. It feels massively overdue but I'm relieved that it's happening. I couldn't even tell you what prompted me to get back into witchcraft it was just something that over time started to come back to me and before I knew it I was back to researching, updating my book collection and making plans to expand my crystal collection. I'm lucky in that I have close friend who are also interested in practising which I think is probably where I fell short as a teenager as though I grew up with the internet the resources available were still pretty limited, so making like minded friends proved to be more difficult.
During my research, I stumbled across this video by Anais Alexandre who put the question to her viewers "What draws you to witchcraft?", so I figured that would be a good place to begin. Growing up I always felt kind of different, that I wasn't quite like the other children. I was more sensitive, animals took a strong liking to me and I them. I was fascinated by nature unlike my peers and created "potions" made out of flower petals that I'd leave outside overnight, purely out of instinct - there are no witches that I'm aware of in my family, it was just something that seemed so natural to me. I've been doing a lot of research into witchcraft recently and couldn't help but smile when so many signs I'd experienced myself actually came up in this video by Witchery TV.
Today, I still adore animals and people often comment on how I have "a way" with them and over the last year I've gotten really into keeping plants, both in and outdoors. Unfortunately due to the personal circumstances I mentioned earlier, I'm currently without a fixed abode. I've very kindly been taken in by some friends until my new flat is ready to move into (buying houses is a very long and tiring process.) I feel like that this new chapter of my life is definitely part of a spiritual journey so I plan to document it in this blog as well as things I learn and create in regard to witchcraft so there's likely to be a mix of this to come. I hope you find my content interesting or helpful at some point in your own journey too.
