I woke up this morning and stirred for a few minutes as I normally would, rubbed the sleep out of my eyes etc. and had last night's dream pop back into my head. I'm normally a pretty vivid dreamer; I always have been since I was a kid. The majority of the time my dreams are like watching a movie and I joke and say even when I'm having nightmares, I do kind of enjoy them in a weird way because it's free entertainment (and boy do I enjoy a horror movie). Last night's wasn't on par with classic slashers and monster flicks. Quite the opposite actually, but it did feature ghosts, specifically those of my late grandparents. Essentially the dream consisted of me being in their house and watching them as spirits getting ready to go to an evening function. Both of my grandparents had busy social lives and when they were both in good health, would often be going about on day trips or going to night time events. My grandma especially loves an opportunity to get dolled...

What I got up to during the full moon

Image
This was the first full moon since restarting my witchcraft journey that I really took advantage of this moon phase. I did myself a tarot spread which I wrote about in my last post , so here's the rest of what I got up to this full moon. I've most practising witches (I assume) I took the opportunity to get all all of my crystals charged up and made myself some moon water which I'm excited to put to good use! I tired out a lot of new stuff this full moon too. I spoke about this in my last post, but I finally got around to trying out some sex magic using the audio guide provided by Layla Martin . I wasn't sure how well it would go, purely based on the fact that I'd be listening to someone talk while I was performing it, but to my surprise it worked out pretty well for me! I'd sent myself up a nice little area to set the vibe and really enjoyed it. Definitely something I'll be doing again. As well as perfo...

Moon in Capricorn 2020 Tarot Spread

Image
Hi there! Happy Full Moon to ya! I've got a number of bits and pieces planned for this part of the moon cycle (I'm planning on on charging my crystals and some moon water, and making some love oil and having a go at some sex magick later - it's that kinda vibe) but to kick off the festivities, I gave myself a tarot reading using the tarot spread Biddy Tarot posted on her instagram yesterday. I had already done a little five card pull for the start of July, but I feel like the questions that Biddy used in her spread were a little more interesting and specific, so I decided to give it a go. After all, it's good practice for me! 1. What have I achieved in the last six months? Card pulled: Ten of Wands reversed To be honest, it was no surprised to see this card pop up in this position. The Ten of Wands reversed indicates that you need to take a break from things and enjoy what you have. The last six months rea...

I'm in love with The Love Witch

Image
What's this? Another post? Already?? So I'm a little late to the game on this one and no doubt anyone remotely interested in watching films that are about witchcraft or the occult in general will have most likely seen Anna Biller's 2016 The Love Witch already. Well I hadn't until the other week and let me tell you something - I LOVED it. I'd seen stills from this film floating around the internet (specfically from the first scene we see the protagonist in the Victorian tea rooms) and up until I tuned into The Witch Wave's podcast episode interviewing Biller I had assumed it was a film from the 1960s (this is a really good episode and I'd highly reccomend checking it out!) I mean, just look at it? You'd be easily fooled into thinking this film was relased around the time of classics like Breakfast at Tiffany's. To be perfectly honest, even looking at it now, I am still asounded that this film was only relased four years ago. The...

Starting over...

My goodness it's been a minute since I last posted anything here! I honestly hadn't realised it had been this long. Hi, how you doin'? I must admit, my practicing slipped between the last post I made and now. When I first set up this blog I was fresh out of a long-term relationship and living in my friend's attic. Moving into my flat happened, I started a college course and being a singleton for the first time in about eight years took over, I spent the majority of 2019 suffering from a mystery illness that still remains undiagnosed. Thankfully - touch wood - I'm recovered, fighting fit and raring to go. Unfortunately as a result of said mystery illness, I lost my job and as a result my college course, still currently out of work and  what with the introduction of the Corona virus, it looks like it might stay that way for the time being. However, I'm glad to announce that things have settled down somewhat since then, despite being a VERY bumpy ride. Qua...

Yesterday I began working on my wand. The day before, I'd taken myself on a walk with the intention that I would find material to make myself a wand. No sooner had I left the street I'm staying on, I found the perfect fallen twig to use. Not wanting to waste what was a really nice autumnal afternoon, I walked around a nearby park and a couple of items caught my eye; a feather and several wild hazelnuts.  I've sanded it down and etched a few basic symbols into; my sun sign, five pointed star, and some decorative lines on the handle as well as a comfortable thumb nook. Before I begin to use this wand, I wanted to make sure it was cleansed in preparation for its use and did so using smudging sage. Not wanting to waste the smoke, I cleansed the items I'd found on my walk to.  I have found I really enjoy practising in a very intuitive way. When I'm spell casting like this is makes me feel a stronger connection to the craft because everything just feels ...

Everything has been a little crazy with me lately with regard to my house move and this weekend was the first in a while where I didn't have  anything I needed to do.  I took a wander into the city to meet a friend who is also practising witchcraft  to have a bit of a catch up and she gifted me some Palo Santo to help attract some good vibes into my space. After our coffee date I paid a visit to a stall on Norwich market that sells crystals, incense amongst other things. The stall is run by a lovely man who has assisted me in identifying crystals via their Facebook page previously. I think he must recognise me as I've been back a few times recently and helped me pick out a new pendulum, some sage and also gifted me a piece of Palo Santo. I definitely think the universe it telling me I need to bring some good energy into my life! I also collected The Green Witch a book I had ordered from The Works for a mere £3 (I did look on their website to link from there, but...
